OPEN POSITIONS

+ HOUSE MANAGER

JOB SUMMARY:
Our innovative “small house” concept provides significant benefits over the traditional facility model, and it requires a special kind of caregiver. All of our house managers fulfill roles we refer to as “universal workers.” As a universal worker, responsibilities include handling everything from direct care and assistance with activities to household functions such as laundry, housekeeping and meal preparation. This approach allows us to mirror the comforts and appeal of a personal residence while offering a safe, purpose-built environment and affordable high-quality care.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Sufficient formal education to enable the performance of daily tasks with the understanding of what is involved
  • Possess a genuine love for senior adults and be able to maintain a service-oriented attitude at all times
  • Ability to maintain close but professional relationships with every resident
  • Possess a personality attuned to the requirements of meeting the daily needs of the residents in Assisted Living and/or Alzheimer’s Care
  • The State of Texas requires managers to be at least 18 years of age and show proof of graduation from an accredited high school or certification of equivalency of graduation.
  • Managers must complete the state mandated 24-hour assisted living management course within the required time allotted by DADS.
  • ALZ facility managers must have a minimum of one year working directly with Alzheimer’s residents to qualify.
  • Must pass the Safe/Serv food managers course within the first 15 days of employment
  • All employees must pass a TB test prescribed by the medical community before working with residents.
  • Must pass RN Delegation test and fulfill all required training in accordance with state regulations before working on a shift

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE (OTHER DUTIES MAY BE ASSIGNED):

  • Must be on duty 40 hours per week in the house that is being managed
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of the residents at all times and uphold the principles of person-centered care and Resident Bill of Rights
  • Responsible for scheduling all shifts and approving time off as it relates to schedules.
  • Maintain inventory of all supplies and assure that inventory is kept current.
  • Maintain a maintenance log for the house and see that all maintenance items are logged in and communicated to the Maintenance Coordinator in a timely manner.
  • Keep the Executive Director and Wellness Director updated on any changes in the status of the resident’s emotional, physical, or psychological state.

  • Ability to communicate with residents, families and personnel
  • Ability to remain calm under stress
  • Ability to demonstrate patience, tact, courtesy, enthusiasm, and a positive attitude
  • Ability to read and write in English

+ CNA / CAREGIVER

JOB SUMMARY:

All of our CNAs/caregivers fulfill roles we refer to as “universal workers.” As a universal worker, responsibilities include handling everything from direct care and assistance with activities to household functions such as laundry, housekeeping and meal preparation. This approach allows us to mirror the comforts and appeal of a personal residence while offering a safe, purpose-built environment and affordable high-quality care.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Sufficient formal education to enable the performance of daily tasks with the understanding of what is involved
  • Possess a genuine love for senior adults and be able to maintain a service-oriented attitude at all times
  • Ability to maintain a close but professional relationship with every resident
  • Possess a personality attuned to the requirements of meeting the daily needs of the residents in Assisted Living and/or Alzheimer’s Care
  • Previous experience is not necessary but would be helpful
  • In the State of Texas, full-time attendants must be 18 years of age or a high school graduate All employees must pass a TB test prescribed by the medical community before working with residents
  • Must pass RN Delegation test
  • Must be certified to serve food within 15 days of employment

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE (OTHER DUTIES MAY BE ASSIGNED):

  • Ensure the safety and well-being of residents at all times
  • Assist residents as required and as directed by the Executive Director in bathing, grooming, dressing, and other activities of daily living
  • Follow activities schedule and ensure that all guidelines are met per individual resident as required by community Activities Director and government entities
  • Cook and serve meals. Follow menus as posted.
  • Clean resident rooms, make beds and do laundry per schedule.
  • Keep all living areas, bathrooms, kitchen and dining room clean at all times.
  • Keep the Executive Director and nurse updated on any changes in the status of the resident’s emotional, physical, or psychological state.
  • Administer medication per physician’s orders and RN delegation.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Executive Director
